About Us

  Peter Frankl

Peter is a graduate of the University of New South Wales majoring in accounting, finance and information systems. One of his long time passions has been the study and appreciation of economics and valuation theory. In the early 1990s he created a consultancy that produced industry research reports for the benefit of SMEs. A number of industries were studied in depth including the food industry and the franchising sector. The consultancy also provided valuation advice for vendors and purchasers of businesses. He has worked in management and finance roles in the consumer goods and information technology industries.

Peter obtained a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment and is presently a Fellow of FINSIA. He also holds a full practising certificate as a CPA designated member of CPA Australia.

Sometimes Peter is asked whether he is a lawyer or ex-lawyer. He is not a lawyer and has never been a lawyer. He started legal studies with a combined undergraduate degree but found his interests were more in the direction of business and economics.

In 1997 he discovered the legal services industry. His roles and activities in the legal services industry have been particularly diverse but the common thread has been a focus on smaller independent practices. His variety of roles have included practice management, accounting services, software training, practice broking and consulting. These services are still actively provided and he has assisted over 500 individual legal practices.

Peter founded Legal Practice Bulletin  in early 2009 to be an important resource for small forward-looking legal practices. Legal Practice Bulletin became known as Legal Practice Intelligence in December 2009 to reflect its emphasis on research, analysis and education.
